What were they trying to resolve:
Mrs Scrivener was trying to become more grid independent and to have more control of her grid reliance. Equipment location was important to not lose space within the garage. The M&E Contrax Renewables team provided a full assessment of the space and possible solutions to ensure an easily managed solar installation.

What was the solution?
Following a discussion with the customer and understanding their careful energy usage, we designed a system capable of storing excess energy with the flexibility to expand in the future.
To make the most of the available space in the garage, we opted for a fully wall-mounted system.
Finally, we secured permission from the DNO to install a larger inverter, ensuring the capacity to handle higher loads at any given time.
What was the result?
As it took a long time for the DNO to give approval to the installation, we had planned on a 450W panel which became unavailable during that time. As for this, we decided to upgrade the customers panels to 12 x Aiko 455W which boast increased performance and a sleek all black finish. We matched these to a 5KW Fox Hybrid inverter with 2 x 5.18KW EP5 Batteries which have potential to increase to over 20KW.
We kept the installation high on the garage wall and provides consistent white containment throughout the installation, in keeping with the wall colour. This system can also force charge the batteries on a cheaper night rate to discharge throughout the day should the customer wish to change energy tariffs.
