Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. We install solar panels across Plymouth and nearby areas including Saltash, Plympton, Plymstock, Ivybridge, Tavistock and Wembury. If you’re just outside these areas, get in touch and we’ll confirm availability.

There are three main types of EV chargers: Level 1, Level 2, and DC Fast Chargers. Level 1 chargers use a standard 120-volt outlet and are typically used for home charging, providing a slow charge rate. Level 2 chargers use a 240-volt outlet and offer faster charging speeds, suitable for home, workplace, and public charging stations. DC Fast Chargers provide the quickest charge by directly supplying DC power to the battery, commonly found at commercial and public charging locations.

Not always. Some properties may need radiator upgrades in certain rooms to deliver comfortable heat efficiently. This is confirmed during survey.

Yes. We cover Plympton and the PL7 postcode area from our Newton Abbot base. We also cover neighbouring areas including Plymstock, Ivybridge, and the South Hams coast south of Plymouth.

The solar panels produce DC (Direct Current) energy which feeds into an inverter, The inverters job is to change that energy from DC to AC (Alternating Current) which we use in our homes then it will distribute this to your house loads in real time. If you are producing more energy than your house is using at that moment the excess will naturally export to the grid (the part you can get paid for) Alternatively if you have battery storage your excess energy will divert into the battery charging this up. If your battery becomes fully charged, then the system will return to export excess energy to the grid. In the event you are using more energy in your home then you are producing from your panels then the extra power will be supplemented from your battery (if you have one) or via the grid as usual. You system will always prioritise the solar and batteries to supply you power before calling on the grid.

Yes, and they work very well together. Solar can help offset some of the electricity used by the heat pump, especially when paired with battery storage.
