Frequently Asked Questions

Any unit that has a heat pump will provide heating in addition to cooling. This is often very economical to run when compared to other forms of heating systems.

We install Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Panasonic, Toshiba, and Worcester Bosch air conditioning systems. Brand selection depends on the specific requirements of your premises, your budget, and what suits the installation environment. We recommend the most appropriate system after the survey rather than defaulting to a single brand.

Determining the right size of an air conditioning unit for your office involves considering several factors to ensure that the system is neither too small nor too large, but just right for the space.

A prevalent misconception regarding air conditioning pertains to its perceived high operational costs. While the expenses associated with air conditioning can exhibit significant variation based on factors such as installation specifics, duration of usage, and the heating and cooling demands placed on the system, it is important to recognise that, in general, air conditioning is characterised by economic efficiency.

Yes. All modern split system air conditioning units operate in both modes. In cooling mode they remove heat from the indoor air. In heating mode they operate as air-source heat pumps, extracting heat from outside air and delivering it indoors at typically three to four times the efficiency of a conventional electric heater. For many Devon properties, a well-sized air conditioning system can replace room electric heating in winter while providing the cooling benefit in summer.

The Boiler Upgrade Scheme was expanded in late 2025, and in 2027, it’s going to include a 2,500 pound grant towards air-to-air heat pumps, which are essentially modern air conditioning systems. This applies to eligible properties where the air-to-air system is being installed as a heating solution rather than a standalone cooling measure. We can advise on eligibility at the survey stage. See our air conditioning grant resource for more detail.
