What was the solution?

After discussing the requirements with Mr Phipps and looking through energy bill data we looked at a solar panel installation that could be split between the east and west roofs, given that the south was not a suitable option due to a large chimney and limited surface area. We also explored multiple options on panel design to make sure the systems appearance was in keeping with the roof space.

What was the result?

As part of our continued partnership with Datel Electrical to help their customers transition to renewable energy sources we installed 10 x 450W all black solar panels with a 30-year product warranty. We split this in bias of the east roof due to space limitations on the west and kept all the panels in a portrait orientation. The DC cabling was discrete and protected in armoured conduit as well as separating the positive and negative strings from each roof to provide extra safety. The hybrid inverter and 5KW battery were installed in the garage via an old window recess which perfectly fits the system.

The system is performing very well, after the first full day after the installation the Mr Phipps confirmed they had only used a single unit of electricity from the grid which is fantastic news.
