All domestic solar panel and battery storage installations currently attract 0% VAT. This applies automatically and is confirmed until at least March 2027.

Boiler Upgrade Scheme to Heat Pump Grant
£7,500 towards an air source or ground source heat pump for most eligible homes. Rises to £9,000 for off-gas grid properties (oil or LPG) until March 2027.

Yes. All modern split system units operate in both modes. In heating mode they work as heat pumps, delivering heat at typically three to four times the efficiency of electric panel heaters. For many Devon properties a well-sized system replaces room electric heating in winter while solving the summer cooling problem.
From 2027, the Boiler Upgrade Scheme is looking to include a £2,500 grant towards air-to-air heat pump systems in residential properties. We advise on the latest information and eligibility at the survey stage.
