About M&E Contrax Renewable

M&E Contrax Renewable designs and installs solar PV systems for homes and businesses across the South West. We’re growing quickly and we’re looking for a dependable, experienced Solar Technician team who takes pride in tidy finishes, works safely, and gets the job done without drama.

The role

You’ll support our domestic solar installations by completing the roof works to a high standard, working closely with our electricians and surveyors on site.

Key responsibilities

  • Install roof mounted solar PV systems on domestic properties
  • Fit mounting rails and roof fixings in line with installation plans
  • Carry out tile removal, cutting, flashing and replacement as required
  • Ensure weather tightness and a clean, professional finish
  • Work safely at height and maintain a tidy site for customers
  • Coordinate with the electrical team for cable routes, penetrations and handover
  • Flag any roof issues or layout challenges early and help find practical solutions

What we’re looking for

Essential

  • Proven experience working on pitched roofs
  • Solar PV roof mounting experience
  • Strong attention to detail and pride in workmanship
  • Reliable, professional approach, great communication on site
  • Own transport and tools (vehicle suitable for rails and solar kit)
  • Able to travel across Devon and Cornwall
  • Confident working to method statements, risk assessments and site safety standards

Desirable

  • Flat roof experience
  • Experience with roof types common to the South West, slate, clay tile, concrete tile
  • ECS, CSCS or relevant health and safety certifications
  • Basic understanding of solar layout plans and cable routing considerations
