What was the solution?
For our Newton Abbot solar client, we conducted a comprehensive site assessment and consultation process to determine the ideal solar solution for their specific needs. After analysis of the property’s energy requirements, roof structure, and budget considerations, we presented multiple configuration options with varying layouts and system capacities.
Following discussions and detailed energy modeling, we ultimately designed and implemented a high-performance 47.5kW system. The final design featured 108 premium Bifacial 440W panels, specifically selected to maximise energy generation from the property’s reflective commercial roof surface.
Our solar installation team strategically positioned the inverter to take advantage of pre-existing electrical conduits and infrastructure. By carefully mapping out the building’s electrical architecture, we were able to utilise established routes down to the main supply panel.
What was the result?
We installed a robust 49.5kW solar photovoltaic system across the commercial roof space, strategically configuring the array to maintain all required access routes for future maintenance and safety compliance. Our design incorporated precisely calculated thermal expansion gaps between panel sections, a consideration that prevents stress damage to both the mounting system and the roof structure during temperature fluctuations throughout Devon’s seasonal weather patterns.
Our solar installation team used a Dektite cable entry system under the array directly above the inverter location to minimcise dc string lengths. We also provided full CT metering through the clients monitoring portal so they can keep track on generation, usage and exported power. We can use this data to investigate the viability of solar battery storage for them in the future.
